Pachamama

Cooperatively Owned Business

Pachamama Coffee Cooperative was established in 2006 by smallholder coffee farmers around the world with the goal of roasting and selling their best coffee beans directly to consumers in North America. Pachamama is 100% owned and governed by 400,000 smallholders in Perú, Nicaragua, Guatemala, México and Ethiopia. Farmers control the price for their coffee, hold every seat in the boardroom and answer directly to consumers. Farmers not only own their land, but also the Pachamama brand, a roasting facility and five beautiful cafés in Northern California where they roast, market, sell and brew their exceptional coffee.
